The five light modes of SolarMask
SolarMask offers five different treatment plans. The benefits of these plans are briefly described below. Want to learn more about a specific type of light therapy? Click the link at the bottom of the text.
What makes SolarMask different?
While reviewing existing LED masks, we realized that technology and research don't always align. SolarMask was developed to bring the two together.
Wavelengths based on research
LED light therapy is all about the right wavelengths . That's why our programs were developed based on literature research into what actually contributes to skin improvement and recovery. No unnecessary features, just targeted light programs that do what they're supposed to.
We consciously use near-infrared (NIR) . Research shows that NIR penetrates deeply enough to be effective, while farther infrared offers few additional benefits. We choose effectiveness, not marketing claims.
Want to see exactly which studies we used? See our page on empirical research you will find a clear overview of the studies and sources on which we based our information.
No loose remote control
Many masks operate with a control panel attached to a cord. This is inconvenient and disruptive. That's why we integrated the control panel into the mask : wireless, clear, and easy to use.
Less pressure on the nose
Because many masks are secured only with a strap behind the head, pressure often builds up on the nose. That's why SolarMask has an additional strap over the head , which distributes the weight better and keeps the mask comfortable.
Five settings for different skin needs
SolarMask has five different light settings, each with its own function. We deliberately chose this selection so that all skin types can benefit from SolarMask.
Want to know more about what each light mode does?
In our blog we explain in plain language when to use which mode and what you can expect from it.
Experience first, then decide
We think it's important that you experience the mask at your own pace first. That's why you can try SolarMask at home for 30 days . If it doesn't suit you, you can return it under our Try & Glow guarantee .

How does Light Therapy work?
Light therapy stimulates the biological processes in your skin. Below, we explain exactly what happens and why it actually makes perfect sense that it works.
Light therapy uses specific colors of LED light to activate natural processes in your skin. Unlike sunlight, this light doesn't contain UV, but only safe wavelengths that help repair, firm, and soothe your skin. You won't feel any pain or heat: the light stimulates your skin cells from within.
Each color of light has its own wavelength, which determines how deeply it penetrates the skin. Your skin cells absorb the light and convert it into extra energy—a process called photobiomodulation. This causes your cells to produce more ATP , the fuel they need for repair. The result: faster cell repair, increased collagen production, and reduced inflammation.
Creams primarily work on the upper layer of skin. LED light penetrates deeper and activates the cells responsible for renewal, firmness, and repair. This supports the natural regeneration process from within, where skincare can't reach. That's why you see faster and longer-lasting results.
Each color of light has a different effect on the skin. This is because each wavelength reaches a different depth and activates different processes. Further down on this page, we clearly explain the differences between each color.
The treatment is completely painless and safe for daily use. You'll only feel a slight relaxation during use. Results are usually visible within 2–4 weeks: calmer skin, fewer blemishes, and increased firmness. Collagen improvement continues to build afterward. Consistent use yields the best results.
